Forklift Operator/Linehaul Loader – Sydney
The Role
# Forklift Operator/Linehaul Loader - Sydney Gibson Austwide is seeking an experienced Linehaul Loader / Forklift Operator to join our team at our Preston depot. This is a hands-on role within a dedicated team where your contribution is recognised. ## Key Responsibilities: * Loading and unloading linehaul interstate trailers * Loading and unloading local delivery trucks * Ensuring correct weight distribution for single and B-double trailers * Setting mezzanine floors and strapping freight securely * Checking, weighing, and cubing freight into the depot * Inspecting local, country, and interstate freight for outbound deliveries * Maintaining a clean and tidy depot * Conducting daily forklift checks (oil, water, cleanliness) ## Skills & Experience Required: * Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role * Proven experience with load maximisation and load restraint * Strong understanding of axle weight capacities * Good geographical knowledge (familiarity with suburbs, local and interstate destinations) * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment ## About You: * Reliable and self-motivated * A proactive self-starter * Able to work both independently and within a team * Takes pride in safety and accuracy ## Hours & Conditions: * Monday to Friday: 7:00am start – finish time varies (end of day) * Every second Saturday: 4 hours (paid at overtime rates) * Position is currently covering leave but is ongoing * Will transition to rotating start times (7:00am and 10:00am) when the regular forklift driver returns ## What We Offer: * Immediate start available * Ongoing, stable position * Supportive team environment where you’re valued
