MC Truck Driver & Diesel Mechanic - Wollongong
The Role
McCabe Transport is seeking experienced MC Truck Drivers and a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join their Wollongong-based operation. Established in 1996, the company specializes in bulk haulage, scrap steel, agricultural products, gravel, and tanker work. **Current Positions Available:** * **MC Powder Tanker Driver:** Bulk powder tanker work, primarily Monday-Friday with some weekend work, 4-5 nights away per week. Driving modern Kenworth SAR 610 trucks. Boral & Cement Australia induction preferred; tanker experience preferred but training provided. * **MC Interstate Driver:** Interstate tipper work running NSW, QLD & Newcastle routes. Driving Kenworth SAR 909 & SAR 610 trucks. Dangerous Goods Licence required. Potential to earn over $200,000 p.a. Opportunity to keep the truck at home on weekends. * **MC Scrap Metal Driver:** Country NSW runs returning into Sydney (Canberra, Newcastle, Western NSW). Modern Kenworth SAR 610 fleet. Potential to earn over $120,000 p.a. Drivers may keep the truck at home if living outside the area. * **Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic:** Workshop-based role (Monday-Friday with overtime). Duties include vehicle servicing, inspections, repairs, fault diagnosis, and maintenance of Kenworth, Western Star, tippers, and tanker fleet. **Requirements for Drivers:** * Current HC or MC Licence (depending on role). * BFM Accreditation or willingness to obtain. * Tipping or tanker experience preferred. * Good understanding of fatigue and mass management. * Professional presentation and strong work ethic. * Commitment to safety and compliance. **Requirements for Mechanic:** * Qualified Diesel Mechanic. * Current NSW Driver Licence. * Own tools. * Previous heavy vehicle experience. * Ability to work within a team. **What McCabe Transport Offers:** * Full-time stable employment. * Modern Kenworth fleet. * Great hourly rates + overtime + overnight allowances. * Weekly pay. * Well-maintained workshop and equipment. * Ongoing training and career growth. * Opportunity to take trucks home on weekends.
