The Role

Chemtrans, a division of K&S Freighters, is seeking an experienced HC/MC Dangerous Goods Driver to join their projects team in Melbourne in a casual capacity. This role is ideal for semi-retired professionals or those seeking flexible work. You will handle local, linehaul, and country routes, including container and rail deliveries.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete deliveries and secure loads safely.
  • Conduct pre-start vehicle checks.
  • Adapt to changing operational needs.
  • Accurately complete required documentation.
  • Operate and maintain equipment per company policy and safety standards.
  • Provide professional customer service.
  • Ensure equipment is operational and maintained.
  • Uphold all health and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Valid MC/HC licence.
  • Australian citizenship for security clearance.
  • Ability to successfully complete police and ASIO checks.
  • Successful pre-employment medical outcome.
  • Baseline or NV1 Security Clearance (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
  • Hold or be willing to obtain an explosives and dangerous goods licence.
  • Hold MSIC or willingness to obtain.
  • Rail and port induction a plus.
  • Side loader, SSAN Explosives transport experience preferred.
  • Reach stacker and side loader experience beneficial.
  • Experience with local, country, and interstate deliveries.
