Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver – Melbourne

Gibson Austwide is seeking an experienced Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver to join their team in Laverton North, Melbourne. This hands-on role involves local pick-up and delivery work, primarily operating 14-pallet curtain-sided rigid trucks. The position is Monday – Friday (day shift) and offers an immediate start with a modern fleet of automatic trucks. There is potential for the casual role to transition to full-time for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Local pick-up and delivery runs within scheduled timeframes.
• Securing and transporting freight according to company and industry standards.
• Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting defects.
• Completing delivery documentation and electronic records accurately.
• Providing professional customer service.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of MR/HR driving experience.
• Solid understanding of tautliner and load restraint procedures.
• VIC Roads Driver History Report.
• Flexible and available for additional work.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
• Forklift licence advantageous.
• Previous experience in local or palletised freight distribution preferred.
