The Role

Gibson Austwide is seeking an experienced Fleet Allocator / Leading Hand to join their transport operations team in Melbourne. This role offers an attractive salary package up to $90,000 per year, a company dual-cab utility vehicle, and a Monday to Friday roster with consistent hours and overtime opportunities. Responsibilities:
  • Allocating fleet movements across Metropolitan Victoria.
  • Planning and assigning daily driver runs.
  • Coordinating customer pickups and deliveries.
  • Organising linehaul schedules and transport capacity.
  • Monitoring fleet servicing and maintenance programs.
  • Managing CHEP and LOSCAM pallet control.
  • Checking driver paperwork and runsheets.
  • Assisting with warehouse operations.
  • Supporting the daily leadership of transport operations.
Requirements:
  • Current Forklift Licence (essential).
  • Minimum five years' experience in the transport industry.
  • Previous experience in fleet allocation, dispatch, scheduling, or transport operations.
  • Strong understanding of linehaul loading procedures.
  • Knowledge of load restraint and vehicle weight compliance.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
  • Reliable, motivated, and safety-focused.
Highly Regarded:
  • Experience using Transvirtual Transport Management Software.
  • HR or HC Truck Licence.
  • Good knowledge of Melbourne's metropolitan road network.
  • Leadership experience or desire to develop into a leadership role.
