Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Full Time) – Thornton

Hornby Transport Services is seeking a heavy vehicle mechanic for their Thornton depot. The role involves working full-time on a modern fleet including Kenworth, Western Star, and Freightliner vehicles, as well as associated tipper, flat top, and tautliner trailers. Responsibilities include performing routine scheduled services and attending breakdowns. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of post-trade experience as a heavy vehicle mechanic, a driver's license (HR or above), and preferably a forklift license. They should be available Monday to Friday, rostered Saturdays, and for on-call duties. Experience with specific vehicle and engine types (Kenworth, Western Star, Freightliner, Cummins engines) is preferred. Day and afternoon shifts are available, and uniforms are supplied. Applicants must be Australian citizens or Permanent Residents and will undergo a pre-employment medical assessment.
