MC Driver/ Yard Person
The Role
K&S Freighters is seeking an MC Driver/Yard Person for a varied full-time role in Portland, Victoria. This position involves both MC driving and yard duties. Driving responsibilities primarily cover local runs within Portland and to Mount Gambier, with occasional trips from Portland to Melbourne, and also provides relief coverage for the driving team.
Yard work includes assisting with preloading and unloading trailers, and general warehouse duties. Full training will be provided, including load restraint and buddy training with an experienced driver. The company operates modern trucks equipped with fatigue cameras and satellite tracking.
Success Profile:
- MC license
- Forklift license
- Good driving history
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
- Strong commitment to safety
- Previous experience operating and reversing B-Doubles with local deliveries
Responsibilities:
- Transporting bulk general freight
- Applying appropriate load restraints to meet safety requirements
- Moving product using a counterbalance forklift
- Loading and unloading trucks using a counterbalance forklift
- Undertaking pre-start vehicle checks
- General housekeeping of vehicles
